Frequently asked questions

What is Topspot?

Topspot is a map of Paris made of layers. Each layer is one theme (public toilets, bakeries, street art, covered passages) and you choose which ones to show. Every spot is checked and sorted so you do not have to dig through reviews.

Is it free?

Yes, every layer is free while we test the app. Later, some layers will be paid, one at a time, at a small price. Public toilets will stay free.

Do I need an account or an app?

No. Topspot runs in your browser. On your phone you can add it to your home screen: it then opens like an app and works offline for the layers you have already loaded.

Where do the spots come from?

From open data (the City of Paris for toilets), specialist guides and sites that we rewrite in our own words, community maps and our own visits. Each layer says where its data comes from.

A spot is wrong or closed. What do I do?

Tell us through the contact page with the spot name. We fix the map quickly. Street art changes often: murals get repainted, so some pieces may be gone.

Are my favourites saved?

Yes, on your device only. We do not have accounts, so we never see them. If you clear your browser data, they go too.

Can I export the map to Google Maps?

Not for now. You can open any spot in Google Maps with the Directions button.

Which cities are next?

Paris comes first. The other big French cities are listed in the city menu and will open one after the other.
